Kitchen Garden Radio Show

On the show this week, we are joined by Councillor Malcolm Noonan to discuss Invasive Species and work being undertaken to control their spread.

Mags reports on a visit to the English Market in cork and brings along some homemade Herb Pesto.

In Nature Notes we hear about the Cuckoo and its amazing lifecycle.

There are also lots of jobs to be done in the Garden this weekend:

  • Prune Wisteria and Lupins
  • Dead-head bedding plants, roses, sweet peas and Dahlias.
  • Plant second crop spuds to enjoy them at Christmas
  • Pot on pepper plants
  • Harvest Garlic when the tops turn yellow
  • Pick courgettes!

There’s an appropriate song too from Jack Leatherman: Invasive Species!
